Instrument names

If you want the name of the instruments (or the name of the voices) to be displayed in front of their respective staffs at the beginning, you may code:


normalshapemediumseries\defnormalshapemediumseries\instrumentr{ name of the instrument} %


where r is the roman numeral of the instrument considered. In this case, you should also adjust the normalshapemediumseriesnormalshapemediumseries\parindent dimension so that the long name of an instrument does not spill too far into the left margin.
